Chasing The Light

Annie, a beautiful young woman from Miami, FL and myself had the fun of "chasing the light" recently. We started out at 5:45 and raced about the countryside chasing the quickly changing light until 6:45 in the dark. The ability of the Nikon D3 allowed us to capture images that at one time would have been impossible. What fun ! What a beautiful model! As they say, "It's good to be alive!"

Thanksgiving Hunt

With sun shining and the countryside bursting with fall splendor, the Ottawa Valley Hunt had a large gathering to enjoy their Thanksgiving Hunt. Many arrived in trailers, even as far away as New York State to the beautiful farm owned by Peter & Kay Leach, near Appleton Ontario. Others enjoyed a hack to the hunt meet from neighbouring farms.

Although the day was actually a little too warm for the hounds to perform at their best in picking up the scent of the fox, Sue Hobin and the hounds of the OVH looked magnificent as they trotted off with three very large groups following in behind.

The horses represented an interesting mixture of breeds with riders ranging from children to "super adults". The one common factor was that all were enjoying the comradeship and great spirit that this Thanksgiving Hunt promised.

Little "Big People"

Recently I was fortunate to be able to photograph "Isabella". I had photographed her parent's wedding and it was great to be able to capture their first family portrait session. Grandparents on both sides joined us to make this a true family affair. Isabella has just conquored walking on her own and now she's ready for the world. Curious, pace setting and personal opinions on all kinds of topics are commencing. For the parents and grandparents the key word was "flexible" as there was no posing (too boring) at this level and life is lived on one's own terms.
Her personality shone as did the love that surounds her from mom, dad and her grandparents.
