Easter JOY!

I can remember Easter as a little girl, not for Easter eggs or chocolates, but as the time of year that you got a new Easter dress and usually a cute hat to go with it. A vivid memory of my little brother, James comes into mind in his new shoes, dress shorts, shirt, dress jacket and a little cap standing against the wall of my grandparent's house.  These memories were triggered by the portrait session of little Joshua who arrived in his pinstriped blue suit, shirt and tie for his Easter portrait.

The ready smiles, confidence and overall look of well being were obvious signs of a little boy that has been well loved by his mom, Amanda and dad, Jason.

Mighty Bruins

The Kemptville Bruins finished off an excellent hockey season on Saturday, March 23 in their home tournament.  The coaches of this team deserve a big pat on the back for their commitment, coaching expertise, patience and encouragement to every member.  Their focus on the positive development of not only hockey skills but team skills was evident in every shift that I have witnessed this year.  What a great opportunity for these children to enjoy the game of hockey!

So Beautiful

Maternity sessions have become an integral part of the whole, "baby revolution".  When I was pregnant with my two children, pregnant women wore clothes to hide their pregnancy and the idea of having your "baby bump" photographed would have been thought insane.  Fortunately times have changed and women enjoy their new forms with clothes being designed to accentuate and show off the "bump".
It was a great pleasure and an opportunity to work in the studio with the lighting to show off this new third dimension of the womans' figure during pregnancy.  Truly beautiful!

Power To The Little People

I often feel that nothing can surprise me when it comes to "little ones" at their first portrait session, but little Emmalyn showed me, "That you ain't seen nothing yet!"  Her outgoing personality and sheer exuberance had her mother, Sara and I in stitches.  Ooooh so hard to choose just a few to show here.

Living A Dream

My husband, Ted said that when you went you should have no regrets.  What he meant was that you should live life as you have dreamt and to the fullest of your capabilities.  While photographing in Southern Pines, NC, I met Peter Harding from Kingston, ON who was doing just that.  With his great pair of Dutch Warmbloods, he was preparing for Live Oaks International Combined Driving competition in Ocala, Florida. He was living his dream.

EXCELLENCE

While photographing in Southern Pines, NC I had the pleasure of meeting Mark Schofield, the trainer of Glenmore Farm.  He had his hackneys for winter training in this unique equine community which offers never ending opportunities to ride and drive.  Mark and his staff presented their four horse hackney hitch in their finest harness made by Freedman for a carriage ride and photo session that will never be forgotten..

The Feeling - HAPPINESS

The time - February 16, 2013.  Location - Chateau Laurier  The feeling - Happiness!!!  Such was the marriage ceremony of Leanne Rouselle and Jeff Crawford.  This glowing couple mixed with friends and family before the service, celebrated their love and support from their children, gave the most heart warming vows that I have ever witnessed and demonstrated that there is hope even after the worst of tragedies.  Leanne & Jeff wanted to share their love with those that meant a great deal to them.  They succeeded!
