WPPI Convention Las Vegas

Having just returned home from Las Vegas and the WPPI Convention, I am physically exhausted but mentally motivated and excited to incorporate the new ideas and concepts introduced. With over 12,000 participants from 31 different countries, the largest trade show ever and a fantastic choice of international, trend setting speakers it was everything that I hoped for.
Great lighting discussions evolved around ethereal window light, interesting effects blending tungsten and natural daylight and the impact of using off camera flash to create the "wow" factor.
Thre trade show was inspirational with dynamic new products and entertaining speakers throughout. My clients will be able to experience new designs and album choices - luxurious woven throws from their images - images on metal, either individual or groupings (a must see product).
The buzz about the recently released Nikon D3 and its power to capture the previously impossible situations had everyone talking. I purchased this camera prior to Christrmas and it has amazed me with every test that I have put it to. Speakers at the Nikon booth demonstrated even more capabilities of this cadillac of cameras.
It was great to see Tony Corbell, Mark Ridout, Robert T. Williams and Doug Gordon, all presenters that I have had the opportunity to meet through my position as Speaker Chair at previous Ontario Provincial conferences. WPPI was everything and more than I had hoped for. A definite must see for every serious professional.
