Kentucky, An Experience Of A Lifetime

I have recently returned from Lexington Kentucky, having visited with Shirley McQuillan of Touchstone Farm. Shirley, a leading horse chiropractor in North America gave me a lifetime wish to be able to experience the "equestrian and art world of Kentucky"!
One cannot begin to explain the thrill of entering all the major thoroughbred farms of the Lexington area and being able to photograph and speak with the leaders of the thoroughbred world.
Shirley also arranged for me to meet one of the greatest sculpture artists, Cindy Wolf at her home and studio just out of Lexington. Wolf has created and worked for the best, including the life size sculptor of racing history, Cigar.
The Kentucky Horse Park, preparing for the WEG 2010, was the site of Rolex International Event where I took the opportunity to photograph the cross-country phase. The last time I was in Kentucky was 1978 when Canada won the team Gold and Bruce Davidson won the individual gold on Might Tango. It was with great emotion that I photographed Bruce Davidson on Cruise Lion, another grey, at the water complex. Pictured below is Bruce's son, Bruce Jr. who placed 3rd. My how time flies when you're having fun.

For anyone wishing to be able to experience the thrill that I had, Shirley and Carien Schipper, from EPNet are planning a weekend photography workshop in October of this equestrian heaven on earth, Kentucky.
