2008 A Year Of Growth And Happiness

As 2008 is quickly coming to an end, I wish to send out best wishes to all my friends in the photographic world for a happy and healthy New Year in 2009.
Ted and I are so fortunate to share the love and growth of our family, in particular are two grandsons, Rhett and Wyatt. Wyatt joined us on June 16 and is growing and "smiling" by the day. Rhett has gone from a little toddler to a great big boy - "Oh Yah!!!" Our hearts almost burst with pride and joy on Christmas morning when Rhett entered the house and shouted out - Ho, Ho, Ho Merry Christmas.
Didi & Todd, proud parents have had their hands full with these two energetic young men while our son Keith has brought us a great deal of pleasure with the introduction of his beautiful girlfriend, Kristina.
The year saw wonderful opportunities to travel, photograph and experience life to the fullest. In early March we shared a wonderful week with Eileen Butler in Southern Pines, while immediately on getting home, I headed off to Las Vegas for the WPPI convention. The trade fair, unbelievable speakers and new ideas are still reeling in my head.
The beginning of May saw us enjoy two weeks in the extraordinary Scotland where we experienced two full weeks of sunshine and superb weather. The Scottish people said we could go home, but we had to leave the good weather that we had brought. We must have left it in Scotland because the summer in Eastern Ontario had to have the poorest weather in as long as I could remember. When else would you be bringing in first cut hay in the second week of September.
October had me on the road again to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where I had the chance to work with Carien Schippers of EPNet in a photographic seminar at Clark Farms. The cowboys and women treated us to great horsemanship and exquisite photographic opportunities that we all felt honored to be part of.
Between all of these travels the year was filled with outstanding weddings, portrait sessions of young new families, some great garden photography, commercial assignments and special events.
Life has been good to me in 2008 and I sincerely thank everyone who has been part of it. I only hope that my love of photography and working with people has given many the images that will preserve their special moments for life. Thanks.

Wedding Bells in Perth

The beautiful town of Perth on December 6 was ready for the Home Tour, Santa Clause Parade and most importantly of all, the wedding of Julie McLenaghan and Jamie Schoular. With a fresh coating of snow the town was ready to receive this beautiful couple on their wedding day.

Jamie and his men readied themselves in the beautiful Code Mill Inn. Never have Brooke and I photographed a group of men that serenaded us like these. Their four part harmony was thrilling and we were able to hear it again at the reception as Jamie serenaded his new bride, with the groomsmen backing him up with great sound.

For Shaleigh and Noah, daughter and son of Julie it was an exciting day and they carried it off without a hitch. They were joined by many young ones at the wedding who were all "little models" in their holiday outfits.

For myself it was a tremendously happy occasion to see Jamie, a long time friend from basketball look so handsome and proud as he viewed his beautiful bride come down the aisle. Congrautlations Julie and Jamie.
