NOW & FOREVER

There are opportunities that a photographer has that makes them feel they are going to be part of a person's history.  These are special times!  An example of this is the chance to photograph a newborn from three weeks to one year.  The changes and memories can only be preserved through photography.
A quotation from one thankful mother reads, "You are truly amazing at what you do!  The pictures are the best way to describe our son's personality, traits and facial expressions through his first year!  As this chapter of his life closes, we will have your masterpiece to embrace.!"
Enjoy this selection from his book.  To see the complete book, ask the proud parents, Scott & Ashley.

A Very Special Lady

There are few people that I know of that are recognized by their first name only.  Just saying it brings smiles to people's faces, fond memories of laughter shared, admiration for their business success but most important of all, a feeling of privilege for sharing in a very small way in this person's larger than life persona. The name is DOT.

Recently Dot has not been well and I have shared many conversations with her concerned followers.  While having lunch at the Black Dog, I was happy to hear that she is slowly but surely on the mend.  I am sure that she has no clue to the impact that she has played on so many peoples' lives.

A small reminder of her signature goodwill for others was the portrait session that she arranged for all of Bruce's family in 2005.  With my vehicle packed to the hilt with antique dresses and lawn furniture I enjoyed one of those special moments of feeling that you are honored to be part of such good people's lives, if only for a moment.

Magic at 900 Colonel By

The Christmas season begins with a wonderful tradition from Mill Street Florist and the Homes For The Holiday Tour in Ottawa in mid November to raise funds for the Maycourt Hospice.  Joanne Plummer and her staff decorate a home that has graciously been opened to the public to support this worthwhile cause.  To say that I anxiously await this assignment each year is an understatement.  ENJOY!

Christmas Spirit Arrives!

Fulfilling Fall

With the advent of the cool nights and frost in the morning comes the fall colors of Sugarbush Studio.  This is the busiest time of the year for a studio surrounded by eight acres of maple bush.  Many returning faces and a bounty of new faces took advantage of the extraordinary warm weather we experienced this October to have their family portrait sessions.  Fifteen sessions in five days made for a busy Betty.  Add to this the great opportunity to once again photograph the Governor General Awards for the Status of Women in commemoration of the "Persons Case" and add a side trip to Myrtle Beach for golf and well, you get the picture.

I look forward to posting some fall sessions as I catch up on all the work.
